I am a huge fan of beetroot and always looking for new ways to prepare it. It is said to be good for the heart and the liver too. This recipe is from ” Polska” by Zuzu Zak.

  1. Finely grate the beetroot so that they turn to mush.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring, for a couple of minutes. Gradually add the milk, stirring all the time, to make a smooth, thick sauce.
  3. Add the grated beetroot and sugar to the pan and stir until well combined and hot. Season to taste with salt and serve.
