An easy Cantonese recipe for Char Siu Pork
Ingredients
- 100 ml hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp clear honey
- 2 tbsps rice wine
- 400 g free range pork fillet Thinly sliced
- 250 g purple sprouting broccoli or similar
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 600 g fresh rice noodles
- 4 tbsps roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves

- Mix together the hoisin sauce, honey and rice wine in a bowl. Add the pork and stir to coat. Cover and chill for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile blanch the broccoli in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and refresh under cold water then set aside.
- Heat the oil in a wok. Remove the pork slices from the sauce and reserve the sauce. When the wok is very hot cook the pork slices for 1-2 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- Add the broccoli and stir fry for another minute to heat through. Meanwhile cook the noodles according to packet instructions.
- Add the reserved sauce to the pork, bring to the boil and cook for a minute more.
- Divide the rice noodles between 4 bowls and top with the pork and broccoli. Scatter with the fresh coriander leaves to serve.
