A lovely thick bowl of chowder for the winter months. Its from ” Roast Figs Sugar Snow” by Diana Henry. I have had this book for many years but it has recently been reissued.
A French recipe for roast lamb from ” Cook Simple” by Diana Henry. It’s good served with flageolet beans ( canned and drained are fine) heated with a big knob of butter, salt and pepper, a squeeze of lemon and a handful of chopped parsley.
A very British twist on this classic from Diana Henry. I made it for my two great nieces ( aged 2 and 5) , reducing the amount of mustard, and it got the thumbs up from both of them, after second and third helpings.
Delicious plums from ” Organic” by Sophie Grigson and William Black. Serve cold with cream, and some extra sugar or honey on the table for those who like their fruit a little sweeter.
I found this South Indian inspired recipe in a recent purchase from a charity shop – ” Gastro-Geek” by Regina Sabur- Cross. I discovered that Regina had a food blog in 2009 and although it does not seem to have been updated recently more of her recipes can be found here- https://gastrogeek.wordpress.com. Enjoy!
