Green beans are cooked in olive oil like this in Turkey , where they are usually served warm, or at room temperature, rather than hot. This recipe is from ” Comfort” by Yotam Ottolengji, and the beans will keep in the fridge for up to three days.
These Cheesy Curried Beans from Yotam Ottolenghi make a quick and easy brunch, lunch or supper . They are best made with jarred beans but you can also use a tin. A 400g tin gives about 300g beans, so I increase the cream and cheese to take this into account. You could add extra spicing if you like.
This restorative recipe is from The Bicycle Shop in Norwich and I found it in ” The Norfolk Cook Book”. They serve it with Spinach and Poached Eggs, and recommend a Bloody or Virgin Mary on the side. In September 2023 I will be staying in Norfolk for a couple of weeks and I am really looking forward to trying some of the local produce, especially the seafood.
A luxurious supper of cheese and ham on toast from Diana Henry. A new bakery called Guild of Dough has opened near me recently and I am rapidly becoming addicted to their Kimchi Sourdough which i think would work well in this too.
An Indian breakfast dish to serve with roti or naan, or on toast. This version is from “Towpath:Recipes and Stories” by Lori de Mori and Laura Jackson. Towpath is an outdoor cafe on the Regents Canal in London which opened in 2016 and which i am very much looking forward to visiting on my next visit to London.
