A refreshing drink which is popular during Ramadan from ” Sumac” by Anas Atassi. If you have a good Middle Eastern store nearby you may be able to buy ready made Jallab syrup, but if not you need to mix the grape and date molasses in equal amounts yourself.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsps grape molasses
- 4 tbsp date molasses
- 4 tbsps rosewater
- 1 litre cold water
To serve:
- 75 g sultanas or raisins
- 100 g nuts e.g.pine nuts, pistachios, blanched almonds
- ice cubes
Servings:
Instructions
- Dissolve the grape molasses, date molasses and rosewater in the water in a large pitcher.
- To serve, stir in the raisins and nuts and pour into glasses with lots of ice cubes.
