- Grate beetroot coarsely into a salad bowl and add the garlic.
- Set aside a few walnut halves. Chop the rest finely and add to the salad.
- Mix together well and add enough mayonnaise to bind everything into a creamy salad.
- Season with salt and decorate with the remaining walnut halves.
