A lovely thick bowl of chowder for the winter months. Its from ” Roast Figs Sugar Snow” by Diana Henry. I have had this book for many years but it has recently been reissued.
A favourite side dish which I found in ” From the Oven to the Table” by Diana Henry. It goes well with roast lamb, chicken or fish. It can also be served as a main with burrata, extra virgin olive oil and warm focaccia.
A delicious way to use courgettes which I found in ” From the Oven to the Table” by Diana Henry. Serve with green salad and perhaps some roast tomatoes.
A dessert from ” Roast Figs, Sugar Snow” by Diana Henry. It is good served chilled with some ginger biscuits but can also be served warm or at room temperature.
Comforting bowls of pasta with chestnuts and mushrooms . Use ready cooked vacuum packed or frozen chestnuts to save time and effort. The recipe is from Southern France and i found it in the excellent ” Simple” by Diana Henry. Its a winner.
